Nova Data Testing Storage Tank Inspection Practice Manager

STORAGE TANK INSPECTION PRACTICE MANAGER  •   JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA

Nova Data Testing, Inc. has a need for a full-time Storage Tank Inspection Practice Manager to support and grow our operations along the East Coast of the United States. As the Storage Tank Inspection Practice Manager, you will be responsible for the Business Development and growth of our Storage Tank Inspection practice, oversee the day-to-day inspection schedule, and manage and train other employees assigned to the inspection team. Provide the client with technical recommendations in accordance with applicable standards for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment.  This is a position with a lot of flexibility to do things right and opportunity for growth; where compensation will increase with success.  Nova Data is a 35 year old inspection company that is well funded and ready to invest in building our market share of tank inspections.  We are looking for the right person with several years of experience to lead this service area.  We currently have two API 653 and two STI-SP001 inspectors but need someone to lead the group while being in the field hand in hand with the team.

  • Client Business Development/Sales for our Storage Tank Inspection Practice
  • In-depth working knowledge of API 653and ASME standards
  • Demonstrate project lead experience and thinking.
  • Conduct API 653 inspections, prepare reports, and recommendations.
  • May also support STI-SP001 inspections at other industrial facilities.
  • Provide technical guidance on NDT techniques and procedures.
  • Customer interaction and update of QA/QC status
  • Overseeing and witnessing NDT as safe access allows
  • Verifying weld spacing requirements and drawings
  • Monitoring pre-heat during welding, verifying MTR’s
  • Developing and executing job proposals for current and prospective clients
  • Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
  • Provide technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, as required by client or industry parameters
  • Other related activities as directed by the client
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working as a visual inspector and leading inspections
  • API 653 certification required
  • STI-SP001 certification a plus
  • In-depth, working knowledge of API 653 and ASME Sections
  • Preferred NDE Certifications to include: UT, MT, PT, LT/BT, MFL, ACFM
  • Business Development/Sales experience
  • Ability to work with electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Fully comply site safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives Requirements.
  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and other computer skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License with no restrictions is required
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication.

Nova Data Testing Level I Technician

ASSISTANT POSITION   •   JACKSONVILLE, FL AND NEW ENGLAND REGION (MA, CT, RI, VT, NH, ME, PA)

Nova Data Testing is currently looking for hard-working and dependable individuals for placement as Non-Destructive Testing Technicians to support our projects. The NDT Technician will be responsible for performing specific calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations. We are looking for someone with 1-3 years of experience to support our boiler outage inspection team in New England and the Mid Atlantic. The contract period maybe a few days or a few weeks depending on your availability and could lead to full-time employment with the Nova Data Testing.

Not a technician yet and have some experience with industrial inspections let us know about you as we are looking for NDT Assistants too. Nova Data provides both on the job and classroom training and development to further our employees’ careers as an NDT Technician.

  • Set up, calibrate, and utilize Nondestructive Test equipment – primarily Ultrasound machines – DSM GO+ and Danatronics meters
  • Use of power tools i.e. angle grinder and die grinder
  • Record results of inspections
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical background desired
  • Experience in industrial settings preferred

The NDT Assistant will work with NDT Technicians in performing specific calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations. The NDT Assistance will receive both on the job and classroom training and development to further their career as an NDT Technician.

  • Set up and utilize Nondestructive Test equipment
  • Assist NDT Technicians in the calibration of NDT equipment

  • Assist NDT Technicians with conducting tests to ensure quality or detect defects using NDT methods of inspection
